After previous model modifications, the 2008 BMW 335i offers
several improvements and upgrades and is now available as
a convertible. Powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-liter engine,
the convertible offers 300 horsepower and comes standard
with a six-speed manual transmission, although a new ZF
automatic transmission is available as well. Supposedly
shifting 40% faster than other automatic transmissions,
the ZF six-speed system offers an easier ride without compromising
speed.
The vehicle converts from a sporty coupe to a more liberal
convertible in just 23 seconds and what makes the BMW car
rental different from other convertibles is that it features
a hard top instead of a soft one. Though this may seem like
a small difference, the result is a more quiet ride and
a sleeker exterior finish that makes it difficult to even
tell the vehicle is a convertible.
Accelerating from zero to 60mph in just 5.1 seconds, the
luxury car rental is not weighed down by the hard top and
can keep up with other sports cars on the market. The weight
is managed by fifty-fifty weight distribution as well as
an impressive responsive steering system that enables the
wheels to move effortlessly underneath the steering wheel.
And it wouldn’t be a true BMW car rental without
all the extra luxurious - both inside and out. Standard
features include an electronic stability system and 18-inch
wheels as well as reflective leather seating that keeps
seats up to 30 degrees cooler than conventional leather.
This is particularly useful when the top is down and the
sun is beating in on the car. Optional amenities include
Bluetooth capabilities, fine wooden trims and active roll
stabilization.
